The Cheryl A. Soward Communicator of Distinction Award is designed to honor the best and the brightest in the field of government communications. The award recipient is selected by the board members of TAMIO. The recipient represents an individual who is a government communication professional, public information officer, and/or administrator who has excelled in the communication field.
"When the TAMIO board considered establishing the Communicator of Distinction award, the discussion for the first recipient began and ended with Sharon Logan," said TAMIO past president, Tom Bryson. "Sharon's dedication to our association, commitment to our craft and unfailing service to the City of Coppell made her the clear and unanimous choice."
Logan has been with the City of Coppell for more than 14 years overseeing city-wide communications.
“It’s an incredible honor just to be in the same room with the very best communicators in the state of Texas,” said Logan shortly after receiving her award. “TAMIO is a great organization that encourages members to work together and share thoughts, processes and information. Their innovative thinking and creativity definitely plays a factor in the way we communicate with our community. This group makes my job much easier.”
