Independence Day Parade
The parade will travel southbound on Sowers Road, westbound on Irving Boulevard, around Millennium Park fountain, eastbound on Second Street, northbound on Lucille Street, westbound onto Irving Boulevard and northbound on O'Connor Road.

Independence Day Celebration
Come out to Lake Carolyn Parkway and Las Colinas Blvd. for lots of fun and fireworks and celebrate the pride of being an American.

July 5 at 7 p.m.
Valley Ranch Live presents KidsNotes
The Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra presents a hands-on, interactive opportunity for the whole family at the Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail. Valley Ranch Live is a family program series featuring special performances and more on the first Thursday of the month. For more information, call 972-721-4669.

Meals on Wheels Volunteer Training for Irving Residents
The Visiting Nurse Association needs volunteers to deliver a Meals on Wheels route once a month in Irving. Volunteer training will take place at the Visiting Nurse Association's headquarters on 1440 W. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. For additional information call 214-689-2210.

July 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Document Shredding Opportunity
Residents are invited to a free shredding event at the drop-off recycling center located at 3000 Rock Island Road. Participants will be limited to two boxes per visit and proof of Irving residency may be required. Shredding documents to safeguard from identity theft can be a costly service. Free Summer Food Program: The Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Irving ISD to provide Irving youth with free, healthy summer lunches. These healthy diet options will compliment the summer camp activities at multiple recreation centers. Lunches will be provided Monday through Friday for children 18 years of age or younger, regardless of income. Lunch preparation and delivery will be administered by the Irving Independent School District. The lunch menu will feature both hot and cold meals, and will include one meat, two vegetables/fruit, bread and milk. Lunches will be similar to those served at school during the academic year.
