Mission Fundraiser
First Baptist Church in Irving is holding a garage sale/missions fundraiser in their Family Life Center Gym. All proceeds benefit individuals going on international mission trips this summer. FBC Irving is located at 403 S. Main Street.

Ladies Auiliary to VFW Post 2494
These ladies will host a birthday party for the residents of the Avante Rehab Center located on Sowers Road beginning at 2 PM. This is a monthly activity of this Auxiliary. Anyone wishing information on this activity or on becoming a member of the Post and/or Auxiliaries, call the Post at 972-790-1611. VFW Post 2494 is located at 3375 Belt Line Road, just south of Shady Grove.

Hoops/Kicks Program
The Irving Police Department and Irving Police Athletic League present the Summer Hoops/Kicks free youth programs. Hoops is for kids ages 10-14 and focuses on basketball,while Kicks is for ages 8-14 and focuses on soccer. The Hoops program will take place daily from 9 a. m. to 1 p.m. at Travis Middle School, 1600 Finley Road. The Kicks program will take place daily from 8 a.m. to noon at Austin Middle School, 825 E. Caregiver Education
Baylor Medical Center at Irving is sponsoring a Caregiver Education and Support group in the Crossroad Café Conference Room located on the campus of Baylor Irving, 1901 N MacArthur Blvd. July 's topic is "Dealing with Difficult Behavior". This group is for anyone caring for an older adult, chronically ill or disabled loved one. For more information call 972-579-4095.

Energy Bills Class
Home Depot will provide tips to keep energy bills low during sweltering summer days in this Do It Yourself (DIY) workshop at 6:30 p.m. July 12 at the Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. Registration is not required. For more information call 972-721-2606.

Monthly Steak Dinner for VFW Post 2494
The dinner includes steak cooked to order, baked potato with trimmings and salad at a cost of just $10 per plate. The public is invited to attend. VFW Post 2494 is located at 3375 Belt Line road, just south of Shady Grove.
