“Hunger Games”

 

Teens in grades 6-12 can compete in challenges based on the “Hunger Games” trilogy at the West Irving Library, 4444 W. Rochelle Road. The program is presented as part of the “Realm of the Unknown: Texas Teens Read 2012” activities. For more information, call 972- 721-2691.

Grand Opening

Michaels will open a new flagship store located at 7635 North MacArthur Blvd. in the MacArthur Park Shopping Center. The store features new products and an enhanced shopping experience. Also attending is Irving Mayor, Beth Van Duyne and the Irving ISD Drumline. In-store events include craft demos, giveaways and a prize wheel. The first 100 customers in line will receive a $10 Michaels gift card and the store will randomly distribute thousands of dollars in gift cards to Michaels customers throughout the day.

Police Informational Meeting

The Irving Police Department’s Problem-Solving Team will host a meeting at the Heritage Senior Center, 200 S. Jefferson St. to discuss their southeast Irving initiative. Topics for the meeting will include: crime reduction strategies for the area, current trends, opportunities for community involvement, and a Q & A session.
