The Heritage Singers choir at Heritage Senior Center is open for new members. This mixed choral group for singers aged 50 and older rehearses twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. The focus is on show tunes and popular music. An audition and membership in Heritage Senior Center are required, contact 972-721-2496 for information.

Gateway Planning Group
The City of Irving along with the Heritage District Neighborhood Association and the Heritage Crossing Merchants Alliance invite all downtown business/property owners, area residents and other interested parties to visit with the Gateway Planning Group in the foyer area surrounding the City Council Chambers at the Irving City Hall located at 825 W. Irving Boulevard. The city has retained the services of this firm to assist in the refinement of the vision and implementation strategy for the Heritage Crossing District. Over the past sixty days, Gateway Planning has been meeting with individuals and small focus groups to receive their input on this initiative focused on short and long term revitalization of the historic downtown and surrounding area. This will be the second large-scale meeting held and will feature a come-and-go workshop format with individually staffed stations featuring topics such as housing opportunities, downtown parking strategies, Irving Boulevard/Second Street enhancements and general comments/feedback. “Do Lord Remember Me”
The Heritage Senior Center will offer a special February trip in honor of Black History Month. The Black Academy of Arts and Letters will present “Do Lord Remember Me” by James de Jongh. This play is a dramatization of the WPA’s 1930′s era collection of former slave interviews. Actors lead the audience through the tears and laughter of true stories to find a way forward through the struggles of the past. The cost is $8 per person. Call 972-721-2496 for information.
