Mayor Beth Van Duyne said at a town hall meeting that the City was working to bring a grocery store to north Irving.
“We are working on it,” she said. “A deal hasn’t been inked yet, but if it happens you’re going to be really excited.”
Van Duyne couldn’t give details about the pending deal, but she said at the meeting at Mustang Park Recreation Center that she understood the need for a grocery store in the area.
The question about grocery stores was one of many asked during the town hall meeting, which allowed residents to ask questions and give comments to the Council. Unlike traditional City Council meetings, the town hall format allows for Council members to respond to questions.
