The Coppell City Council denied a developer’s proposal to amend the City’s Comprehensive Plan and build single-family home lots in an area near Highway 121.
The Council voted unanimously on June 11 against the request from TCCI Land Development, Inc. to build the lots on about five acres of property that border the highway. The land is currently zoned for retail and commercial uses.
“As Coppell builds out, we’re going to have to shoehorn into different parts and pieces and open our eyes and look at things differently, but my problem is the location,” Councilman Billy Faught said. “It’s right on the freeway, and that’s why I can’t support it.”
