City of Irving staff are reviewing bids from developers who want to buy some of about 20 acres of residential land in the Heritage Crossing district. The proposals are part of the City’s plan to infuse new life in the downtown area, where residents and business owners have long asked for redevelopment.
Doug Janeway, chief development officer for the City, said the bids are still confidential while under review, but the hope for the area is that developers will snap up the property and build new single family homes and townhouses.
“The market is coming back,” Janeway said. “Irving is a great place to be,to live and a great place to develop.”
