On Sept. 30 the Irving Police sought the public’s help in locating 76-year-old Ignacio Espinoza.
The previous day, at approximately 5 p.m., Espinoza walked away from his residence in the 1500 block of N. O’Connor Rd. Espinoza was diagnosed with dementia and, according to family members, his ability to communicate has decreased significantly and he only speaks Spanish. He is in good physical condition and frequently goes on supervised walks with family members.
Espinoza had walked away in the past but was located walking in the area. Due to his illness, age and the length of time that he has been missing, investigators sought the public’s assistance.
Happily, Espinoza was located just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 30, and was safely returned to his home uninjured. It appears as if he walked away from his residence on his own, but he was unable to find his way back. At some point, he became tired and decided to sit inside a parked car. When the owners walked out to the vehicle, they noticed Mr. Espinoza and called the police.
