Irving site selected by TEKsystems Global Services to expand

The City of Irving, State of Texas, and TEKsystems, a leading provider of IT staffing solutions, IT talent management expertise and IT services, recently announced the company will be expanding its IT services operations in Irving.

The new IT solutions center will operate under the company’s TEKsystems Global Services division and will result in the creation of up to 500 jobs. The IT services company selected Irving largely for its convenient location, its client base, its competitive real estate options, and its accessibility to a large talent-pool in which to attract a quality-rich workforce.

TEKsystems, a subsidiary of Allegis Group, an $8.9 billion enterprise, is headquartered in Hanover, MD with more than 100 locations around the world.

“This opportunity was highly competitive between the cities of Jacksonville and Irving, as well as at the state levels,” said Mayor Beth Van Duyne. “Due to the fact that TEKsystems Global Services’ new, planned expansion is the ideal type of corporate attraction that Irving desires, we worked very closely with the Governor’s Economic Development Office to craft a highly attractive incentive offer at both the city and state levels. We are confident the company and its employees will be pleased with the amenities and lifestyle Irving provides.”

Irving was among several cities considered by TEKsystems for its new IT solutions center.

“This is a landmark decision for Irving,” said Chris E. Wallace, President and CEO, Irving Economic Development Partnership. “TEKsystems Inc. is investing further in our great city and region through a long-term lease of upwards of approximately 80,000 square feet of commercial real estate; this will create a significant level of new tax revenues for the city, school district and county, and most importantly, create high-quality jobs for Irving and North Texas residents.

“The types of jobs represented are software development engineers, software quality assurance analysts/engineers, database development engineers/administrators, and administrative staff. We are proud that TEKsystems Global Services has selected Irving to expand the company’s service lines through the establishment of this new operation.”

In a single year, TEKsystems provides over 80,000 IT professionals to support critical IT engagement at more than 6,000 client sites, including 82 percent of the Fortune 500.

The primary function of the new solutions center is to develop, maintain and/or support various software applications and other IT solutions. TEKsystems Global Services provides services in software development and maintenance, quality assurance and testing, ETL and report conversion and help desk outsourcing to its clients. This new facility will focus on the development and maintenance of mission critical software applications to complement the company’s existing core services in key vertical markets.

“We look forward to working with the City of Irving and the State of Texas to accomplish our mutual goals and grow the economy,” said TEKsystems Global Services Vice President Randy Verdino. “Adding this new center in Irving strengthens our existing network of delivery centers allowing us to better serve our clients and provide a true global delivery model. It simply gives us more ways to provide excellent service and flexibility to our clients by tapping into the right skills quickly, efficiently and effectively

“We intend to leverage Irving’s tremendous wealth of talent at every level by working with local colleges for emerging skills and also hiring experienced people seeking new challenges. Expanding our already significant presence in the United States gives us great pride and the City of Irving and State of Texas have partnered with us to for what will be a win for the people, our employees, our economy and our clients.”
