DeeDee Lynn Driggers

DeeDee Lynn Driggers, age 40 of Irving, TX passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012.  Arrangements by Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Survived by: sister, Patsy Driggers; daughter, Brittany Baldwin; son, James Driggers; and close friend Michael.

Sue Jo McGee

Sue Jo McGee, age 83, of Irving passed away on July 29, 2012. She was born July 14, 1929 in Garland, TX to Joe and Bessie O’Neal. Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. She grew up in Greenville, and later moved to Kilgore, where she attended high school. Sue met the love of her life, Denny Ray McGee, on a blind date.  They were married 49 years, and enjoyed a rich retirement life before his early death in 2000. Sue was resident of Irving for 60 years, and a member of Oakview Baptist Church. She and her husband, Denny, were also active in the Dallas, Ft Worth, and the Mid-Cities Rose Societies. At these Societies is where they showed prize-winning roses grown in their backyard. There is a tea rose, Sue Jo, hybridized by the [late] Ernest Shelton named for her. For the past ten years she lived at Emeritus Senior Apartments, where she enjoyed being a resident ambassador, playing cards, dominoes, outings in the shuttle bus and helping others. The family would like to thank Emeritus. Avante Rehabilitation Center, and especially Delta Home Care/Hospice for their loving kindness and expert care. We would also like to thank the many friends and relatives who visited bringing comfort during her illness. The family is so thankful for all of your kindness and support. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Denny; parents, Joe and Bessie O’Neal; and infant son, Steven Royce McGee. Sue is survived by her daughter, Kathy McGee Albright of Gainesville, TX; grandson, Andy Albright of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Chrissy Albright and her husband Christopher Guarneiri of Durhamville, New York; sister-in-law, Joyce [McGee] Maynard of Kenedy TX; among numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services were Friday, August 3, 2012 at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving. Arrangements were made under the care of Chism-Smith Funeral Home.
