He grew up in Irving, graduated Irving High School 1980 and attended PCI to become a Patient Care Assistant. Most recently he worked for Pate Rehabilitation. Wendell was the owner of Big Tex Power Washing and Coffee Confections. He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Mark and Kent. He is survived by his mother and sister, Jill. Ray Rushing

Ray Rushing, born on November 30, 1941, passed away at his home with his wife Dana holding his hand as he requested. Those who loved Ray will smile to know that he called all of the shots right to the end. He was born in Pittsburg, Texas to sharecropper parents, his mother dying during childbirth. He overcame unbelievable poverty to rise to the highest levels of his profession, Vice President of Operations for the Siemans Company, where his duties took him all over the world. Ray was a man of integrity, character, a powerful personality, and he had a zest for life rarely seen. He was passionate about quail hunting, bass fishing, travel, and all things Longhorn. His was a life well lived and leukemia was the only fight he ever lost. Besides Dana, he is also mourned by Gene and Dorothy Pate and Doren and Betty Ellredge, whom he called the brothers of his heart; Lisa and Doug Wiklund and her sons Rick and Matthew; Casey and Brian Gholson, and their daughters Briana and Sarah; Debbie Stiles, Jeremy Stiles; Marlene and Rhett Rushing; and Glen and Gladys Reynolds. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Robert Collins and his BMT Team at UT Southwestern for their care and compassion that exceeds words. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

(Mack) and Robbie Dowlen Bailey on July 29, 1917. She was a long time Irving, Texas resident and lived there most of her life. All that knew her loved her spirit and determination. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by many friends all over the United States, and her family. Nan was a retired Executive Secretary of Texas Power & Light Company for 25 years. Her hard work and loyalty to that company was appreciated by many of her former supervisors who kept up with her over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray L. (Babe) Anderson and great granddaughter Meredith Lynn Thomas. She is survived by her daughter Linda Avery; son Michael Anderson and wife Carmen; grandchildren Randy McAllister and wife Misty, Lisa McAllister Wood and husband Michael, Kelly Thomas Lyon and husband Tim, Nicole Medina and husband Joe; and great grandchildren Sara Strube, Austin Strube, Allison Strube, Jordan Jackson and husband Jon, and Bailie McAllister. A funeral service was held at 11 AM Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel.  Burial followed at Sowers Cemetery.

Robert Charles McNutt, Sr. of Terrell, TX unexpectedly passed November 1, 2012 during a brief hospitalization. Robert was born June 19, 1946 to Elmyra Rose

Mazurek McNutt and Rector Roy McNutt of Irving, Tx. He will be greatly missed by wife Maxine Olsen, daughter Amy McNutt and husband James Johnston, son

Robert Charles McNutt II (Rob) and their mother Martha Denton McNutt, mother Elmyra, brother Gerald and wife Valerie, step-daughter Jeanne Jezierski and

husband Michael Young plus nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends. Robert was a loving, gently, sweet, soul who never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He took great pride in his library volunteer activities, was fascinated by history and genealogy. He constantly worked to

improve his Spanish language skills and was always curious about the universe around him. This world is a better place because he visited and left his mark on our hearts. Otis Rains

Otis Rains, of Irving, passed away November 14, 2012. He was born May 14, 1920 in Jacksonville, Texas, and was raised in Stamford, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Otis served as a radio operator for the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was an over-the-road truck driver and was retired from Darr Equipment. He was a member of the Village Baptist Church in Irving, where he served as an ordained deacon. Otis was preceded in death by his parents George and Cora Ann (Vest) Rains; brothers Walter Rains, and Ferrell Rains, and sisters Lee, Uvalde, Juanita and Josie. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Ethel Rains, daughter Annetta Frost and husband Gary Sr; grandsons Gary Frost, Jr, and Geoffrey Otis Frost; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at 1 PM at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Mary Bounds Turner

She graduated from Corsicana High School and spent many years in the banking and insurance industries and was a loving wife and mother. As a mother, she supported her children’s interests in sports, music and art. She was also committed to her children’s education and an active PTA member. Mary was a devout Presbyterian and longtime member of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church and a patriotic member of the DAR. Mary enjoyed Wednesday bridge clubs and celebrating birthdays with her beloved birthday club. She exuded Southern hospitality in both her etiquette and culinary skills – her homemade chocolate cake was a particular favorite. Mary was known for her trustworthy nature and her ability to offer sound advice to those in need. She was our beautiful Yellow Rose of Texas and she will live on in our hearts, forever. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Dunn Turner. She is survived by son David Dunn Turner; daughters Sally McGilberry and husband Steven, and Mary Anne Turner; grandchildren Laura McGilberry, Sara Bagby and husband Joel, and Jason McGilberry; sister Carol Pierce and husband Cub; and great grandchildren Emma and Abby Bagby. Memorial services were held at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012, with Dr. Ron Salfen officiating. Richard R. “Dick” Wadsworth

Richard R. “Dick” Wadsworth, of Irving, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012. He was born May 30, 1928 in Dallas, to parents Roy Bowie and Lucy Burt Wadsworth. Dick is survived by his sons Rick of Alexandria VA , Randy and Ron of Irving, as well as 6 grandchildren, Trey, Alexis, Jenny, Jeff, Chris, and Chad. Dick was the youngest of 5 children (Roy, Naida, Jack, and Vivian). His father retired from Browning-Ferris in Dallas and bought the old Oak-A Farm at 183 and N. Britain next to the railroad tracks where Dick grew up and “walked the railroad tracks to school and sports activities.” He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly McCaslin before he shipped out to serve in WWII. To originally join the war, Dick convinced the Navy he was a year older than he was and memorized the color charts because he was color blind. He went to the Navy’s Radio School and basic training in San Diego and shipped out of San Francisco as a radioman on CSV USS Chenango, a support group carrier. His ship and crew were involved on many of the well known battles in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged and returned home in 1946. After he returned from the South Pacific campaign, he and Bev had their first son Rick on her 19th birthday, in January, 1947. Randy was born in 1950, and Ron in 1953. Beverly passed away in January 2003, just after her 75th birthday. After graduating from Irving High School and attending Arlington State College, Dick became involved with his father in Wadsworth Manufacturing Co. making heavy equipment for road and pipeline construction. He later joined Parker-Ford & Assoc. and became a licensed stock broker. Thereafter, he worked for Ling & Company and A.G. Edwards during his brokerage career then turning to sales with his own advertising specialty company he operated for many years. Dick received his 60 year Masonic Service Award on August 6, 2009 from the Grand Lodge of Texas #1218 A.F. & A.M. and remained a member until his death. Following in his father’s footsteps, he joined the Order of the DeMolay then, at 21, was raised a Master Mason. He was an active, committed and proud Free Mason. Continuing his commitment to service, Dick joined the Irving Junior Chamber of Commerce, the JayCees, taking many responsible positions and advancing the work of the JayCees throughout the World. He became a State Director and President of the Texas JayCees. His activity and work continued as National Chaplain of the US JayCees and an International Senator. Beverly was also involved in the Ladies JayCeeEttes, becoming their State President as well. Dick was a Charter Member of Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving and made sure that his sons were also Charter Members. He has served the church throughout his life as Elder, Clerk of Session, and in many activities in and around the church. Dick touched many lives and many touched him. He was a remarkable husband, father and friend. He was committed to serving his God, family, country and his fellow man. He was a committed patriot and truly part of the Greatest Generation. Memorial Services were held at 10:30 AM Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church, 3650 N. O’Connor, Irving, TX 75062. She is survived by her four children, James Henson and wife, Nancy Henson of Irving, TX, Kim Henson Saenz of Madisonville, TX and Brenda Henson and Terri Henson both of Waco; nine grandchildren, Jace Henson, Brittiany Langley Johnson, Austin Williams, Joseph Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, Keith Henson, Cody Henson, Shalynn Garcia and Willie Pearson; four great grandchildren, Monte Josiah Whiteside, Ivan Garcia, Damion Pearson and unborn due in April; two sisters, Ida White and husband, John of Irving, Jean Archuletta of Espinola, New Mexico; and brother, Larry Dean Cohen of Waco. Michael Andrew Marak

He was born on May 12, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward Ronald Marak and JoAnn (Eck) Marak. Michael had been a longtime resident of Irving. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and was a HVAC Technician with the D/FW Airport Board and the City of Dallas Aviation Dpt. at Lovefield Airport. He was an avid water sportsman, loved skiing, boating, and jet skiing. He loved being involved in the community where he coached many of the little league sports teams his children played on. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Fritz. He is survived by his loving wife, Molli Marak; son, Nathan Marak of Plano, Texas; daughter, Andrea Marak of Irving; son, Michael Cole Marak of Irving; and sisters, Deborah Marak Grafton of Irving and Judith Fritz Worswisk of Mt. Clemens, Michigan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 03, 2012 at 2:00PM at Restland Coppell Chapel. A private inurnment will follow at D/FW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Her parents precede her in death. Holly attended Derby High School in Derby, Kansas, and graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. In 1979 she married Lonnie (Ray) Price and together they had three children. Holly was employed by Northhaven United Methodist Church for 13 years and retired in 2007. She was an active community volunteer, serving as a baseball umpire for many years for the City of Irving, and a Contact Line volunteer counselor. Holly was a member of Northgate United Methodist Church and a former member of Greenland Hills United Methodist Church. She is also preceded in death by her father in law, Lonnie, Price. Holly is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Lonnie (Ray) Price; three children, Charrisa, Carrah, and Austin Price; siblings, Barbara Teague and husband, Terry, Mark Wade and wife, Netita, Dawn Wade Lee and husband, Jesse; mother in law, Gladys Price; brother-in-laws, Mike Price, John Price and wife, Paula; sister-in-law, Lisa and her husband, Ralph; numerous nieces and nephews; among many other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 6:00-7:30 pm at Northgate United Methodist Church. Larry (Major Lawrence or “ML”) Davis

Larry was born to Major and Mary Davis on June 9, 1930 in Tyler, Texas and was raised in Chandler, Texas where he graduated from Chandler High School in 1947. He received a BBA degree in Accounting from Texas A&M Commerce in 1951, and completed his graduate studies at SMU. He was married to Bettye Sue Saylors (aka, “Soupy”) in 1950. Larry served as the Vice President of Finance for Southland Financial Corporation for 15 years. After retirement, he started a CPA firm and became a trusted advisor to many clients. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and collecting stamps. His children were the light of his life and he was so proud of their accomplishments – Dana as the owner of a successful dance studio and John as an honor graduate from Texas A&M and employed by Lockheed Martin as an engineer. Larry leaves this personal message to his friends and associates, “I send a heartfelt goodbye to all that I’ve had the privilege of knowing, many of which I still fondly remember your names, but I lost contact through the passage of time. I hope to see you in the dimension not comprehended by the human intellect.” Larry is survived by his bride of 62 years, Bettye Sue Davis; his daughter and her son in Irving, Dana Davis-Bailey and Benjamin Bailey, his son and his family in Keller, John Davis, Clare Davis, and Caitlin Davis; his brother, Keith Davis of Chandler, Texas; and by his cousins, Dr. William and Lenora Clyde of Tyler, Texas and Joe Royce of Houston, Texas. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 AM Friday, October 26, 2012 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne St. in Irving. A Rosary was held 6 p.m. Thursday at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home and the family continued to receive friends until 8 PM. Theron LaRue Lehr

10-27-12 Theron LaRue Lehr photo smTheron LaRue Lehr, a resident of Irving, Texas since 1954, passed away due to natural causes on October 21, 2012, after 93+ years (34,021 days). He was born on August 30, 1919 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He was raised primarily in Lubbock, Texas by his two parents, Harry and Nell Lehr, along with two older brothers, John and Dale, all of whom preceded him in death. Theron graduated from Texas Tech University in 1942. He is survived by: his loving wife of almost 63 years, Carlie Rae Lehr; son Lon Lehr (and his wife Mary), son Larry Lehr (and his wife Cindie), and daughter Lori Lehr Hall; grandson Philip Lehr (and his wife Meghan and their sons Connor and Henry), grandson Pierce Lehr (and his wife Megan and their sons Harrison, Bennett, and Charles), granddaughter Katherine Lehr, and grandson Zachary Hall; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Theron was a U S Army veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict, ultimately achieving the rank of major. Subsequent to the military, the central chapter of Theron’s varied business career was in the perlite industry, focused primarily on light-weight structural concrete. He served as the national president of the Perlite Institute in the 1960s. Throughout his life, Theron was a student of technology, a thinker, and a tinkerer. He enjoyed mechanical and electrical problem solving and built innumerable devices and contraptions. In addition, Theron enjoyed reading, travel, conversation, and practical jokes. Theron was profoundly appreciative for his family, friends, and life experiences. Theron is to be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with a ceremony to be held there on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 2:30PM, and an open reception for family and friends is to follow at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church in Irving from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. [For those wishing to attend the service, the National Cemetery asks that attendees be in their cars in Lane C in the assembly area by 2:15PM.]
