95 of Top 100 on LPGA Official Money List to Visit Irving
With all 10 of the top 10 players in the world and 95 of the top 100 on the LPGA Official Money List committed to play, the inaugural North Texas LPGA Shootout promises to bring the very best of women's golf to Irving, Texas April 25-28.
The field includes Texan Stacy Lewis who recently became Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings #1 and was the 2012 LPGA Player of the Year. The field also features the rest of the top 10 including #2 Yani Tseng, Ai Miyazato, Suzann Pettersen, and Paula Creamer.
Players from over 20 countries will visit Las Colinas Country Club to join a group of prominent players with Texas ties such as Angela Stanford, Gerina Piller, Brittany Lang, Heather Bowie Young, Katie Futcher, Julia Boland, Candy Kung, Lisa McCloskey, and Taylore Karle.
Other notable players committed to play are World Golf Hall of Fame members Juli Inkster and Se Ri Pak, and fan favorites Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Azahara Munoz, Morgan Pressel, Lexi Thompson and recent winner Beatriz Recari.
The 72-hole tournament will be played from Thursday April 25 -Sunday April 28 at Las Colinas Country Club, a member of the ClubCorp family. The purse for the event this year is $1.3 million. All four days of tournament play will be broadcast on Golf Channel. Pro-Am events and practice rounds will be held from Monday through Wednesday April 22-24. Children under 17 get in free with a ticketed adult.
